It all started over two decades ago with one of those eureka moments when nothing from there on out ever looks the same. It was when Linda Wallentine saw a small town Idaho raspberry farmer working his business. She realized right then and there that she would become a business owner herself, enjoying the independence that comes from striking out on your own. After a long and successful career in the direct marketing industry, Linda has now decided to apply her business savvy where it can be of best use, helping others succeed with MoneyWise.

Here’s what we recently learned from one of the wisest Affiliates in the company.

The first thing we found out is that Linda never does business without a trustworthy partner. In this case--and as a matter of fact--in all cases, it’s always been her husband Glen. They do everything together. When a decision was made to exit the company that helped them build a life for themselves, and a subsequent decision was made to haul milk for a living, they did that together too. But when the economy tanked and it was harder to make a buck on a tank of milk, the Wallentines were again faced with making a decision about what to do next. That’s when Linda heard the sweet and sonorous strains of MoneyWise sung by David Osmond on the promo video. After looking over a number of businesses that looked like a fresh ripe raspberry on the outside but sounded like a Bronx cheer raspberry on the inside, she sensed that this one was right. On a strictly marketing level, she found the video upbeat and fun, not boring like reading a word wall of facts. But on a much deeper level, the video spoke to her gut instincts. It’s about real life.

Along with her husband, Linda knew that the litmus test would be a little face time with the founders. Past experience has taught her that the leaders in this line of work make all the difference. They need to genuinely care about people and be in touch with the field or the company won’t go the distance. Knowing for herself what a cohesive partnership can do for a business, she compared the relationship between corporate leaders and those in the field with a good marriage. There has to be a high level of trust. It didn’t take Linda long to size up Varlin, Taylor and Barry. After asking all the hard questions, she just plain had a good feeling about them. Maybe you’ve seen that funny TV commercial where the nerdy teenage son holding a slushy drink confirms to his mother that the sales clerk at the Verizon store is dealing straight with them, when he calmly says, “he’s clean.” It was kind of like that.

The confirmation that the MoneyWise founders and their product are focused on helping others improve their lives really struck a chord with Linda that day. Her and her husband couldn’t sleep that night. Both of them were so done with businesses with overpriced products that really don’t help. They wanted to be involved with something that truly makes a difference. Over the years, Linda and Glen have always loved to help people improve their financial situation because they recognized that it helps all other aspects of their lives.

Linda explained that MoneyWise allows her the opportunity to get involved in people’s lives, care about who they are and what they dream of, and give them hope. By providing tools that teach valuable concepts so people can help themselves throughout their lives, and with the added bonus of also making an income, MoneyWise empowers people to move into the future and avoid the gloom of stagnation.

Linda has found it very easy to open up conversations about MoneyWise. That’s because everyone she talks to is already talking about money issues such as getting out of debt, surviving these tough economic times, and figuring out how to become more financially wise. So what does she do? She says it’s easy because the financial gurus in the media have already laid down her groundwork. People are already aware that they need something to help them take control of their money. She just shows them where to find the tool that will help them do it. And that starts by simply showing them where to find David Osmond singing about us. After that, they find nothing but raspberries through and through.
